Personal Injury Victim Dies In Accident On 71

by brettb on August 20, 2010

As reported by the Austin Statesman, a three-car personal injury accident on Texas highway 71 involved one fatality and left another individual with serious injuries.

The accident took place near Texas 130 on Texas 71 at approximately 2:35 a.m.  Two vehicles – a Ford Focus and a GMC pickup – were stopped at a light.  Anther vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, was heading east at a high rate of speed and failed to stop crashing into the GMC truck and knocking the GMC into the Focus.

The GMC pickup then burst into flames.  The driver of the GMC vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Per usual, we here at Austin Injury Law Answers make it a habit of not posting the names of personal injury victims in our articles and posts.

The Statesman article can be found here.

Jindal May Hire Personal Injury Firm

by brettb on August 16, 2010

Personal Injury Attorneys and trial lawyers always seem to be persona non grata or public enemy number 1 with republicans in general and tort-reformers specifically – that is, at least until that need us.

Gov. Bobby Jindal

And we here at Austin Personal Injury & Accident Law Answers have pointed this out before, but just think of Bush v. Gore or the numerous other examples when Republican politicians or tort reform advocates (who would truly like to shut the courthouse doors on consumers and injury victims but keep those doors open just wide enough for themselves) get all lawyered up and head to court in order to assert their rights or protect their interests.

So, it is with this background in mind that we took just a bit more interest than usual when we noticed this next piece.

Forbes is reporting that Governor Jindal of Louisiana may be in the process of hiring the personal injury and product liability firm of Baron & Budd to go after BP.  The lawsuit would be related to damages form the oil spill in the Gulf.

And we think that’s great.  Louisiana should hire a plaintiffs’ firm and they should go after BP for the damages they have caused.  Gov. Jindal and the good folks of Louisiana have every right to do so.

But do you think that Jindal and the others could lighten up on normal hardworking folks when they seek personal injury attorneys to protect their rights and interests.
