So, it’s SXSW, which is the time of the year when over 100,000 folks from film, tech, music and media descend on our little town and a free flow exchange of ideas and barbecue and Shiner Bock and fun commences – good times.
But this also means an uptick in personal injury accidents – not good times.
People come here from all over the world and are running, walking, driving, and even crawling around with absolutely no idea where they are going or how to get there. So their mind and attention may be anywhere but where it should be – on what they are doing at the moment. And of course, because of all the fabulous parties taking place, they may have even had a drink or two.
My point: be careful, be especially careful. Defensive driving takes on a whole new meaning during SXSW. It’s not just a good idea, it’s damn near mandatory in order to get out of downtown in one piece.
And if you are one of our welcome guests and you’re running around our fair city going from event to event, slowdown, figure out where you need to be and how to get there before you head out. And if you are drinking – don’t driving – and if driving, certainly don’t drink.
If you get lost, just ask someone. Austinites are some of the friendliest people in the world and we will be happy to set you in the right direction.
And if during SXSW you or a friend or a loved one is unfortunate enough to be involved in a personal injury accident, contact us, we’d like to help.
